YURI HABUKA
COMPOSER

Composer. Graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts, Department of Musical Environment Creation, and completed the master's course at the same university. Studied composition under Tatsuhiko Nishioka and Rei Okajima, jazz under Yoshihiko Katori, and violin under Naori Tamai. While in school, she began researching animation music and participated in numerous productions as a composer, winning the Ataka Award and the Acanthus Music Award.

She received the BEST ABSTRACT ANIMATION award at ANIMATED DREAMS 2013, the Best Abstract Film award at the London International Animation Festival 2014, and the Jury Recommendation at the Japan Media Arts Festival.

In 2012, she began providing music for TV dramas such as “ATARU” on TBS Sunday Gekijo. She has a unique world view, and her composition for the movie “Creepy: The False Neighbors” (directed by Kiyoshi Kurosawa) was especially well received overseas.
